Teletherapy Services
What type of teletherapy services do you provide?
We provide comprehensive assessment and treatment stuttering services that address observable characteristics of stuttering and the life impact stuttering may have on an individual. Our comprehensive assessment process helps us identify the unique speech patterns and needs of individuals who stutter, and we work with clients to develop meaningful goals. Our therapy is practical and solution-focused to help clients work toward their communication goals.
Is an initial assessment required before therapy?
Yes, an initial assessment (evaluation) is required before therapy begins. We utilize various clinical assessments to examine the surface level characteristics of stuttering and the impact it has on daily communication. Information gathered from the assessment allows us to understand a client's specific needs and goals so that therapy can be most effective and meaningful.
Who can receive services?
We work with clients who stutter ranging from school-age and teens through adults. We also provide tailored training to parents of preschool children. The therapists at Coleman Stuttering Center are licensed in the state of Pennsylvania (PA). Clients who reside outside of PA should contact us and include the state in which they reside to determine eligibility for services.
How does teletherapy work?
Teletherapy allows individuals to receive speech therapy services remotely through a secure, HIPAA compliant video platform. Sessions are conducted live with a stuttering expert and are designed to be interactive and personalized, similar to in-person therapy. Guardians of clients under the age of 18 are expected to be available while sessions take place. The only requirement is a stable internet connection!
Do you take insurance?
Coleman Stuttering Center does not accept insurance. We can provide invoices which clients may choose to submit to their insurance provider for possible out-of-network reimbursement. We encourage individuals to contact their insurance company directly.
