Coleman Stuttering Center
Pediatricians & Health Care Providers
Pediatricians / HealthCare Providers

Pediatricians and healthcare providers are often among the first professionals families turn to when concerns about stuttering arise. At the Coleman Stuttering Center, we value strong collaboration with medical professionals and recognize the critical role providers play in early identification, family education, and timely referral for evaluation and support. Parents frequently look to healthcare providers for guidance about whether stuttering is “normal,” when intervention may be appropriate, and how to best support their child’s communication development. Our goal is to serve as a trusted clinical resource for providers and families by offering evidence-based information, comprehensive assessment, and individualized treatment across the lifespan.
We work closely with pediatricians, family physicians, behavioral health professionals, developmental specialists, and interdisciplinary care teams to support children, teens, and adults who stutter. Our approach considers not only speech fluency, but also the emotional, social, academic, and quality-of-life impacts that can accompany stuttering. We emphasize family-centered care, functional communication outcomes, and collaborative support across home, school, medical, and community settings. The Coleman Stuttering Center is committed to helping healthcare providers feel confident in identifying potential fluency concerns, educating families, and connecting individuals with specialized support when needed.
