Coleman Stuttering Center
Consultation Services
What is involved in a consultation?
You can think of a consult as an initial conversation to help guide professional recommendations. Depending on each situation, recommendations can help you access appropriate educational resources and/or assessment and therapy services. Consultations are typically 20-30 minutes and can take place via videoconferencing or phone.
Who can receive consultations?
We offer consultation services for parents, speech-language pathologists, teachers, counselors, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals seeking guidance in supporting individuals who stutter.
Can I consult on a specific case?
It depends. Our clinicians can discuss specific cases with other professionals (e.g., teachers) if (1) they are a current client at Coleman Stuttering Center, and (2) if appropriate confidentiality releases are obtained from the client and their caregiver. We do not provide consultative services for clients we have not met.
I want an evaluation. Do I also need a consultation?
No. If you book an evaluation, it is not necessary to have consultation.
